What is DealerDrop?

DealerDrop is a site bringing new car shoppers together, allowing them to share their pricing and buying experience data.

Why DealerDrop?

DealerDrop was created to simplify the process of buying a new car. DealerDrop founder Eric Rafia came up with the idea of DealerDrop after his experience buying a new car. Eric spent hours on the internet visiting web sites, forums, and message boards to find out what others paid for their new car. He figured there must be a better and faster way to bring consumers together and help people looking for the same information. Eric teamed up with college classmate Allan Teruel to come up with a site allowing consumers to share prices and reviews, and then sort and filter the data in a way that makes it relevant.

How DealerDrop is different?

Most automotive web sites focus on assisting consumers with the first stage of the car shopping experience: identifying the car or truck that is right for them. DealerDrop is different because we are focused on helping consumer’s with what is often their least favorite part of the car shopping experience, and that is negotiating with the dealership. At DealerDrop, we’ve created a system where consumers can share prices, reviews, and information about their new car shopping experience. By being able to view the most up-to-date actual prices for new cars and trucks, DealerDrop empowers the consumer to make a confident and smart buying decision.

DealerDrop and Dealerships

DealerDrop allows dealerships to interact with the DealerDrop community, providing exposure to their dealership, products, and services. Unlike other web sites, DealerDrop users are consumers who are in the late stages of making a purchase and we have exciting plans to roll out products aimed at helping Dealerships connect with these consumers.

Who is behind DealerDrop?

Eric Rafia

CEO, Founder and Born Visionary

When Eric’s friends and family want to buy a car, they usually call Eric. He knows how to find and negotiate the best deal and he originally came up with the idea behind DealerDrop. Since graduating with Allan from Santa Clara University, Eric has been involved in commercial real estate helping companies in Silicon Valley negotiate leases and sales for commercial property. Allan "Big Al" Teruel

CTO, Founder and Overall Cool Guy

Allan (aka as "Big Al" with his friends) programmed and designed the original versions of DealerDrop. It started off with Eric's idea and an excuse to learn Ruby on Rails. It has since morphed into a car buying social utility for people like you. In his spare time, Allan enjoys working out in the gym, jui-jitsu and golf. Allan drives a Toyota Tundra 4x2. Phil came in to add his creative genius and build upon Allan's Ruby on Rails design. He currently lives in Spain and enjoys travelling and film. Phil makes really cool commercials in his spare time.
